What if my practice doesn’t look like everyone else’s?

That’s wonderful! You’re staying true to your own magic. Just like you are your own person, your practice is yours alone. What feels right for you may not be what is the norm across other peoples’ practices. That doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong. What’s most important is that it feels right to you.

Do you believe in the afterlife? What is it like?

We both strongly believe in the afterlife. We, people we know, and you can absolutely communicate with those on the other side. This life is not the entirety of our existence, but we don’t believe in getting all the answers to the afterlife. It’s not for us to know at this moment what the afterlife is like. It has taken and does take a lot of personal work to understand that we don’t need the answers. However, we both believe the afterlife is a love centered existence.

What types of reading will you not do and why?

Soulmate readings, highly specific future readings, and medical readings are a few examples of what we won’t do. As mentioned before, we don’t believe in having every answer and we feel this can take some of the mystery of life away. We also firmly believe that, like with every other area of life, consent is key. A soulmate reading often taps into the unconsenting energy of that person in a way we are not comfortable broaching. Soulmate readings and highly specific future readings don’t always age into account the free will we all have. Finally, medical issues should first and foremost be brought to medical professionals. We both know the struggle of getting a doctor to listen to your ailments, but we still firmly believe that it is safest if you bring the issue to an expert in the field in the mundane world rather than relying on messages from the magical world.

You can always reach out to either of us if you feel we’re the medium for you and together we can come up with a strong question to help gain guidance in your specific situation.

I don’t believe in ‘X’, can I still practice?

Yes. There are no rules around what you should or should not believe as your practice your person craft.

Is witchcraft evil?

No. Witchcraft and other ‘magical’ practices that surround the idea of connection beyond the mundane realm have been historically demonized for keeping power and knowledge accessible. The work of midwives, healers, and folks on all different paths across the whole world with an array of different beliefs have been oppressed by the dominant religion for millennia. Part of the oppression and control stems from convincing the masses that there is something inherently evil when practicing any spirituality outside of that dominant religion.

Are there evil spirits?

It is important to understand what evil truly means, outside of cultural bias. There is evil in the universe. There is good and bad. That does not mean that everything you were taught was evil is evil. Protections are important for keeping yourself safe from entities you don’t understand or know how to communicate with yet. They’re also helpful for peace of mind should a wayward force come through.

Can anyone be a practitioner?

Yes. Absolutely, 100%, resounding yes. However, as with taking on any mantle, being respectful and conscious of the history of the title you choose is imperative.

What is a closed practice? Why does it matter?

A closed practice is generally one that you either need to be invited into or taught by someone who is already initiated into the practice. There are many magical practices that have been oppressed or appropriated by dominant cultures throughout history. It is important with whatever practice we choose that we do not continue and uphold colonization. That means respecting each culture’s boundaries and ways of life.

Do I have to do anything specific?

No. For example, many folks work with deities, cast spells, do shadow work, astral travel, and more. However, none of these are mandatory for work. There are many folks who don’t work with any deities, cast no spells, aren’t in a place to do shadow work on their own, and stay put in this dimension. Every practice is different because every individual is different. What is important is to what you feel called.

Can magic replace medical or mental health professionals?

No. We both know that medical systems, especially in the US, can be difficult. For your own safety, though, you should continually tern to certified professionals and experts for your medical and mental health needs. That magical world is supported by the mundane world, so you can always use magic to support the work of the certified professionals in your life.

Will you hex ‘X’?

Hexing and other baleful magic, we believe, should be done in a personal/individual format, excluding social justice causes.

Am I psychic?

We believe that everyone has the ability to tap into the energies around them. This will work different for every person and situation. But if you have the urge to learn to be medium follow it. Find a style or teacher that works for you.
